An old stone house that has recently been restored with loving care and situated beside Villa Gelsomina. Although they share the same pool they have terraces on opposite sides so they are not overlooking each other.
The house is entered directly into the baronial style living room with a wonderful high beamed ceiling and large fireplace. A door leads to the dining room which has a well equipped kitchen at one end and a covered loggia with steps down to the terrace.
There are three double/twin bedrooms, two with attractive mezzanine levels and two luxury bathrooms, one with a very large bath.
It is stylishly furnished in period style, but with modern comforts. The large garden and pool is shared with Gelsomina, though both have their own private terraces.
The views out across the Lunigiana hills are spectacular, especially from the terrace in the evening, while sipping a cool prosecco.
This peaceful location is within easy walking distance of Bagnone, a beautiful arcaded market town with bars, shops, restaurants and a bank. A river from the Apennines tumbles through the centre over rocks and waterfalls, all watched over by the ancient castle above the upper town. It also boasts the oldest pharmacist shop in Europe.
The road to the property directly from Bagnone is too narrow for all but the smallest cars. There is a wider road through from Malgrate, the next village a couple of km away, though this not very suitable for very low slung cars (it does pass a wonderful, and very economical restaurant on the way).
It can be combined with Villa Gelsomina and these two properties would be ideal for a larger party of 10.
