Review of a Hello Italy holiday in the Slow Travellers Guide

 www.slow-trav.com

Location

This was a lovely, quiet situation with good, easy access to Florence, the Valdarno and Arezzo,on the edge of a small town. It was a converted farm buiding but completely separate from the other buildings.

Nearby Amenities

Not really walking distance to anywhere, so you would need a car.

The House/Apartment

The buiding was the converted rabbit house, newly done and everything tip top. It was large, luminous and very well appointed. There were 3 other such apartments in the group as well as a larger house.

Garden

A small, paved terrace but no garden. An excellent large swimming pool that we had to ourselves for the whole of our stay. Super views whilst you swam!!

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The studio was very comfortable, in pristine condition.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

We had a comfortable, antique bed in part of the main room. The bathroom was state of the art with a great shower, fixtures and fittings all new and top of the range.

Kitchen

A lovely kitchen, small but with everything you need for feeding a family let alone a couple. It was set back from the main room and very nicely done with a full size fridge, cooker etc.

Problems or Bonuses

Some baying dogs at night was the only problem we encountered. The surprise was the size of the studio and the quality of everything particularly at the price. Lovely.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We found the agency to be excellent, they are my reason for commending this property and our experience. This property is no longer in their portfolio but they do feature an excellent portfolio of interesting properties particularly in the Lungiana. Their emphasis is on small village houses and their properties are always very affordable.

The brochure understated everything but this is the best way by far. It is an English company. I will be using them again, possibly for part of our trip this September.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would stay there again but you now have to book direct with the owner at greatly increased prices.

Things to do in this area

Easy access to most of the joys of Tuscany with an easy train ride to Florence. We enjoyed local trips to the Casentino and Valdarno as well as to the monastery of Vallombrossa.
